PANIC buying during the Coronavirus pandemic has put a high demand on the THAT food bank Newton Abbot.
THAT (Teignbridge Homeless Action Today) food bank in Queensway, Buckland, Newton Abbot, is helping people in Teignbridge who are struggling with issues of poverty especially during the Covid-19 crisis.
A spokesperson said: ‘During this crisis we are experiencing a high demand for help as, because of panic buying, those in poverty are unable to buy the economy goods.
‘We will help of course and we will continue to help those referred to us who are in need.
‘We offer many types of support for low-income and homeless members of the community, including providing food and home start packs, information, mentoring and more!
‘Just ask the school, CAB, surgery, Social Services, Housing Association, Salvation Army, Children’s Services, Job Centre, Housing office etc to give us a call or email.
‘We would be grateful to receive donations of money and food as well as things like cooking and kitchen utensils, bedding,towels, etc, pet food and baby food.’
