A RALLYING cry has gone out across Teignbridge this week calling for people throughout the district to join Ashburton firefighters in their final demonstration against fire chiefs’ proposals to shut the town’s station.
They want as many protestors as possible to join them as they gather at fire headquarters outside Exeter on January 10 to register their support to keep Ashburton and seven other stations open so they can carry on saving lives and protect the public.
Town mayor and firefighter Don Distin said: ‘This is our last chance to highlight the idiocy of these cutbacks which will put lives at risk.’
