TEIGN School welcomed back Year 11 students from their Class of 2017 to receive their exam certificates, writes Kate Cotton.
A spokesman for the school said: ‘The students’ dedication, hard work and effort was rightly celebrated by parents, teachers and governors on an evening that also celebrated some special achievements.
‘Every year, the school rewards a number of students who have gone above and beyond in their time at the school.
‘We pass on our congratulations to the winners of the special awards, and also to all of the other students whose hard work and dedication have led them to the next phase in their lives.’
Special achievement awards: Ruth Bury Trophy for outstanding participation and achievement in sport – Ella Hartigan; Helen Foundation trophy for outstanding participation and achievement in performing arts – Georgia Tout; Outstanding contribution to the Teign School community – Ellen Sowden; Outstanding achievement in the summer exams – Sam Bovey; Award for academic excellence for outstanding results – Grace Hetherington.
The spokesman added: ‘Thank you to all of the parents and carers for their support of the students and for the school over the past five years.
‘The students (and the school) could not have achieved what they have without your support.’
