SICKNESS-HIT South Dartmoor Community College was back to its studies this week after a nasty bug forced it to close for three days.
Some 150 pupils were laid low by Norovirus-type vomiting and diarrhoea which spread like wild fire early last week. The seat of learning became the seat of churning with the school shut down on Wednesday when 1,400 unaffected pupils were sent home while the premises were deep-cleaned. But the unexpected break ended with most of the school population returning to classes on Monday.
Head Hugh Bellamy said on Tuesday: ‘Everything is returning back to normal. Incidents of sickness have virtually disappeared.’ He said just a handful of students remained absent through illness.
