Youngsters in the foundation year at Chudleigh Knighton Primary School this term were presented with Bibles by Rev Alex Sharp.
This was only the second time the September Starters had visited St Paul’s Church for a special service. They had been part of the school’s Harvest Festival last month where donations were collected for St Petroc’s ‘Harvest for the Homeless’. They were joined by all children from across the school. Jemma Lewis, foundation and Haytor class teacher said: ‘I was so very proud of the children, they took it in turn to receive their Bibles and all showed what lovely manners they had remembering to say ‘thank you’ as they were presented with them.’
Alex Spraggon, head of school, said: ‘It was lovely to have the children’s family join us in church, although we did have to limit numbers this year, and welcome them into our school family.
