‘NO child left indoors’ is the ethos of the Forest School action for pupils of Shaldon Primary School.
The outdoors classes are run by teacher Dan Rees.
Children have the chance to learn some bush craft skills (safe knife use, fire lighting, den building etc.), explore nature and gain confidence in themselves.
‘I strongly believe that all children need to spend time in nature and every child that I have worked with loves it,’ says Mr Rees.
‘If you want to find out more about school holiday and after school clubs please email me at [email protected].’
He added: ‘I run the school up at the woodland above the Ness, but as this is a public space I do not want to do too much that might negatively affect it.
‘If any of your readers has a bit of woodland that they would be happy for the Forest School to use that would be incredible!’
‘We’ll keep you all posted about what we are doing to try and save the world!’
