A RETIRED businessman who liked to keep himself busy died when the dumper truck he was driving overturned at his smallholding in Shaldon in the early evening of Saturday, October 3.

Martin Anthony Chedgy, aged 65, of Higher Ringmore Road, was found by Tony Wadham and his wife of Stokeinteignhead, who had gone to Mr Chedgy's storage area in Long Lane, to park their camper.

In a statement, Mr Wadham told an inquest in Torquay on Wednesday that as he drove into the yard he saw the dumper on its side.

He did not consider that unusual as he had tipped a car on to its side to spray it.
