DAREDEVIL Dawlish octogenarian Bernice Johnson has been up to her high-flying antics again.
Last year’s charity wing walk has been followed by a 170m abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth.
This time Bernice, 81, was joined by two generations of her family, her daughter Julie Monahan, 56, and 28-year-old granddaughter Ziggy Monahan.
Back on firm ground, Bernice said: ‘I’m trying to do new things and like to so something silly most years for my birthday.
‘When I was 80, I did the wing walk.
‘This year, my daughter and granddaughter joined me.
‘It was my granddaughter Ziggy’s birthday and then it was mine a couple of days before the abseil so we all decided to do it.’
Her wing walk raised hundreds of pounds of Devon Air Ambulance and Rowcroft Hospice.
The abseil has raised more than £800 for the Royal British Legion so far.
Julie and Ziggy have chosen to raise money for the Blue Cross animal charity.
