A MAN from Birmingham has been fined for failing to pay a train far at Newton Abbot railway station.
Craig Da Silva, 19, of Yardley Wood, was accused of travelling in a Great Western Train on April 26 without having paid the £160.30 fare and with intent to avoid payment.
The case was proved in his absence when it was heard at Plymouth magistrates court.
Da Silva was fined £440 and ordered to pay compensation of £160.30 along with a charge for victim services of £176 and costs of £180.
