AN upcoming centenary concert in Denbury will be  the first of its kind for a South Devon church.

‘Songs & Stories with Mike Bosworth’ is an afternoon hearing about the life of The Reverend Sabine Baring-Gould, a Devon paron and squire best remembered as the composer of the hymns ‘Onward Christain Soldiers’ and Now the Day is Over’ - he was also a prolific collector of folk songs.

The chance to listen to some of the songs he collected from 1888 to 1903 is coming to St St Mary the Virgin  in Denbury.
