NINETY guests and helpers enjoyed a Christmas dinner provided by the Strand Centre in Dawlish.
Cooked by centre manager Paul Lentle and his team of peelers, servers and washer-uppers, the meal was traditional turkey donated by restaurant Ducky Delish.
MP Anne Marie Morris was among the visitors during the lunch along with an appearance by Father Christmas, otherwise known as former mayor Graham Price, who distributed presents.
Music was provided by Alison Foden and Annie Hyde on violin and recorder.
Carols were sung with the help of a ‘pop up’ girl band.
Marie Whitehead, from the Strand Centre, said there was a ‘wonderful, welcoming festive feeling’.
She said everyone involved putting on the lunch deserved a big thank you and that it was an ‘amazing community effort’.
Thanks also went to Dawlish Water Rotary and other individuals who donated money to make the day a happy one for everyone who otherwise would have been alone.
