Cllr Mike Hocking, independent member for Bradley ward, said: ‘I was very happy to hear the news that Teignbridge District Council had at last listened to the residents of Newton Abbot and shelved a very unpopular idea, namely this proposed bus route though Bradley Lane to Bradley Barton Estaste.

‘It just goes to show that if enough people respond to these consultations, we can make a difference.

‘If Teignbridge District Council were to engage more openly with residents before they spent time, energy and public money, working up schemes that only tick boxes to fulfil their own agendas we would not have the problems or the need for people to fight the number of ill-thought-out projects and scheme that we have today.’
