BUDDING local historians can learn research skills at the Teign Valley Community Hall, Christow, from September 25.

The five-week course includes classes in using census returns and newspaper archives and an introduction to palaeography. Two of the five sessions will be taught at the Devon Heritage Centre in Exeter, using the centre’s resources.

The course is designed as an introduction to starting to research local history. It’s limited to 12 participants.
