LOCAL spirits tasting specialist, Azu Spirits, and the Cridford Inn, Devon’s oldest pub, based in the Teign Valley, have launched a unique monthly whisky club exploring the world of Scotch single malt whisky, starting September 1.

With six new single malts each month, tapas platters from the Cridford Inn’s award winning restaurants, blind tasting challenges and prizes to be won, the blind tasting events are perfect for whisky lovers looking to broaden their knowledge, or anyone looking to try something new.

The club will focus on a different theme each night, with the launch event focusing on the whisky making regions, showcasing six diverse single malts from all corners of Scotland. The series will end with a Burns Night Special Finale in January where there will be a raffle offering whisky prizes, local experiences and a 3 course meal for two.

Previous tasting events held by Azu Spirits have proved popular with guests from across the region, offering a fun, social experience as well as the opportunity to be guided through a tasting with Azu Spirits’ whisky specialist and founder, Ellen Gibson.

Each tasting event will be £35 per person, with discounted packages available for guests wanting to attend the whole series. For just £10, guests can sign up to be a Whisky Club Member and receive a Glencairn nosing glass and a free miniature of a whisky of their choice to take away from each tasting event they attend. Whisky Club Members will also be given a raffle ticket for the prize giveaways at the Burns Night Special.
