TEMPORARY banking facilities have finally opened today in Dawlish, it has been confirmed.

After several years without a single bank branch, the new temporary Banking Hub is now open at the Strand Centre.

The hub will be open from 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and customers will be able to withdraw cash, deposit cash, deposit cheques, pay utility bills and check account balances.

Registered business customers will also be able to collect change.

News of the location for the temporary hub was revealed by the Gazette a few weeks ago.

It is housed in Strand Hall which is in Lawn Hill.

Customers of all major banks and building societies can access cash services from the Post Office counter.

A community banker will also be available and there is a private space for face-to-face talks about more complicated banking enquiries.

A member of staff from banking companies will be available each day.

On Mondays this will be Barclays, Santander on Wednesday, Nat West on Thursday and Lloyds on Fridays.
