A SPECIAL assembly to raise awareness about seals has been held at a Teignmouth primary school.

Town councillor Andrew Henderson said: ‘We have just had our first seal awareness assembly held at Mill Lane Primary.

‘It was arranged by me and hosted by the Seal Project to raise awareness around seals and what to do around seals if you see one.

‘As we have a regular visitor of the seal variety to Teignmouth, I thought it was important to teach the youngsters of Teignmouth more around seal etiquette,’ said Andrew.

‘The assembly was hosted by Sarah from the seal project – https://www.thesealproject.org/ – who also work alongside the https://bdmlr.org.uk/ a wildlife rescue charity.

‘I’m hoping to arrange more seal awareness assemblies at other schools in Teignmouth in the new year.’
