AN animal rescue centre near Newton Abbot that mostly deals with hedgehogs has come to the aid of a different sort of animal

A registered charity, ELM Wildlife helps animals in need from its rescue centre at Seale Hayne.

And while hedgehogs are by and large the number one admission, ELM Wildlife takes in other animals, like the tawny owl it rescued on Wednesday, February 19.

The bird of prey was found not too far from the rescue centre.

There are five resident owl species found in the UK, four of which are native.

The tawny owl is the most common British owl species.

Elsewhere, the charity has launched a GoFundMe with the goal of raising £100,000 to fund the construction of a new, purpose built rescue centre.
