THE gardeners of Bath Terrace who won the Valerie Ayres Cup for Best Newcomers in the Teignmouth in Bloom Awards.
One of the original organisers Valerie Ayres, of the Teignmouth in Bloom did her best to encourage local townspeople to enter the competition each year and she especially encouraged newcomers by the award of the Valerie Ayres Cup.
In the latest competition for the Best Road, Bath Terrace and the adjoining alley way were the winners. The competition drew the best out of the entrants in improving this alleyway with imaginative use of plants, supports, containers and path surfaces.
This one example goes to show what can be done to improve our townscape without enormous expense.
