POLICE and Trading Standards officers have issued a warning to a Newton Abbot shop about selling vapes to under 18s.

An unnamed premises has been issued with a community protection warning after reports were received that vapes were being sold to under 18s. 

Officers in Newton Abbot released details confirming it had been ‘another positive day’ and a ‘great’ partnership working with South Devon and Dartmoor Community Safety Partnership.

The statement said: ‘Following information that a Newton Abbot business was selling vapes to under 18s we have today issued this business a community protection warning.

‘This gives them strict instructions to adhere to.

‘Failure to comply with this will result in fixed penalties and the risk of items being seized.’

Police said there would be a further criminal investigation into the underage selling led by inquiries by Trading Standards.
