EMERGENCY….police, paramedics and an air ambulance crew attended a property in Newton Abbot’s Haytor Drive yesterday (December 2) amid concerns for an elderly resident’s safety.

The man, in his 70s, was airlifted to Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital after the alarm was raised on the Buckland estate at 1pm.

A police spokesman later said the man, who has not been named, was in a critical but stable condition.
