AN inquest has been opened and adjourned on a 47-year-old man, five months after his body was discovered in a makeshift tent in a field near Coffinswell.
Michael Leslie Matthews had a history of drug use and his body was found on May 24. There was drug paraphernalia found nearby.
Coroner’s officer Richard Parsons told the inquest opening on Tuesday that Mr Matthews, who was born in Oldham, Lancashire, was single, unemployed and of no fixed abode.
He said the exact cause of death had been ascertained as a drug overdose. There were no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Parsons said the Mr Matthews body was identified on May 28 by his mother Gillian Worth, a retired dressmaker of Newton Abbot.
