FIREFIGHTERS from Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead are among 19 crews battling a blaze with a combine harvester.

Fire control reports a large outdoor fire at Brixton.

A spokesperson said: ‘We have been called to a fire in a field of corn crops involving a combine harvester this afternoon, Friday.

‘We currently have 19 fire engines on the scene (as of 3.30pm).’

‘Our crews are fighting the fire using: hose reel jets; main jets; breathing apparatus; water bowser; multiple beaters and pitchforks.
