CONFUSION has set in among Bovey Tracey residents awaiting the opening of the town’s first supermarket as conflicting accounts of its opening date circulate on social media.

Lidl are set to open a store in Bovey Tracey, with the discount retailer aiming for the premises to be open before Christmas.

It was previously reported that the opening date would be December 5, but an opening date of November 28 is also being suggested.

The Mid-Devon Advertiser has contacted Lidl to clarify the situation.

In any case, it will likely open before Christmas, which is the supermarket’s aim.
